Try Masters Swimming
August 1–31 2024
Try two FREE workouts at a USMS club

Want to know more?

Want to know more? You can read about adults just like you who participated in our Try Masters Swimming initiative and learned why swimming with a USMS club is great. And don't forget to check out all of our great benefits.

Come meet our Red Tide Coaches and Team!

Learn about our team here. And get you Free Trial Drop In Pass.

Once you get your RT Free Trial Pass, visit our Practice Schedule to choose a workout time that best fits your availability. Head to John Jay Pool with a government-issued ID to access the facility.

Take the elevator to Pool Level C, enter through the locker room, and go on deck to introduce yourself to one of our approachable coaches. Let them know you're here to try out for the USMS Club August event.

Our coaches will help you find a lane group that matches your skill level and comfort. All our workouts are coached and clearly written on poolside whiteboards. Whether you want to build skills, learn techniques and drills, or simply get a fantastic workout, our coaches are here to assist you! Meet our coaches here! Any questions, please contact us!

Still Nervous About Trying?

You might think you need to swim on your own and "get in shape" before coming to a workout. You don't.

Try Masters Swimming is for anyone who can swim.
(If you don't know how to swim yet, you can find an instructor in your area here.)

Whether you're looking to get back in after a long break, try a club for the first time, improve your overall fitness, swim for fun, develop better technique, train for a triathlon, or check an event off your bucket list, we've got you covered. For additional peace of mind, new swimmers can check out our Masters Swimming 101 article series, which has tips, a review of swimming jargon, and information on how to circle swim, read the pace clock, and more.

Of course, always feel free to talk with the coach of the program to get a better feel for that program's atmosphere or contact USMS at 941-256-USMS (8767) or membership@usmastersswimming.org for help.

Current USMS Members

Visit our member information page for ways you can get involved.

You shouldn't be the only one in your office who smells like chlorine. Plus, your inner circle has already heard the stories about how much you love swimming, so let this be the show to your tell. You know it'll be fun working out together—just think of all that gossip you can get caught up on during the kick sets.

Also, visit our club information page with best practices, a toolkit, timelines, and more to prepare your club to welcome new swimmers.
